Using a 16" MacBook Pro equipped with an Inland Premium 2TB SSD 3D NAND TLC M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4, the read speed was 2394MB/s and the write speed was 2394MB/s. Sure its off brand but its the same factory.

That's all I have to say.sorry for any OT digression.Just since you made the “that’s all I have to say comment” and alluding to the inference on your part that the drive case I linked to was somehow inferior. With OWC or SanDisk, their specs are reliable. There's so many off-brand Chinese enclosures out there these days, it's difficult to know what will actually work as advertised. Devil's always in the details with external drives. The more expensive Envoy Pro FX (not available empty at this time, you have to buy with an SSD loaded.$319 with 1TB) is faster (2800 MB/s) which if it can really hit that mark would be 35% faster than your internal. That OWC Envoy Express is on the slower side for NvMe. Yeah, you do need to check the speed specs on enclosures.
